Most likely, you would have your phone with you anyway, but it s just a wise precaution to take the extra time and make sure that it s with you during the meeting. It s also a good idea to have a close friend to trail behind you and casually be in your sight. If everything goes well, you can work out a signal with your friend to let him/her know that you are comfortable.

When you meet someone new, whether it be from a personal ad or the internet, a new set of rules apply that may otherwise seem unnecessary in the traditional dating sense. When you meet someone in class or at a gathering, you know who they are and what they look like. In most cases, you also know something about them. But when you are meeting someone that you have never seen and don t know anything about, it s wise to remain skeptical until you have reason to believe otherwise. In any dating scenario, it always pays to be smart.
